CONTRIBUTIONS
As the tech lead / systems designer, my responsibilities were to design, pitch, and implement the gameplay mechanics and systems.
• Script gameplay features such as player mechanics and third person camera
• Design and implement the quest, inventory, and combat systems
• Design and script NPC interactions and AI state machines
• Host playtest sessions to balance the quest and combat systems
• Host code reviews to address quality improvements in optimization and performance
• Assist in design and implementation of UI and level design
• Assist in creating 3D assets through modelling, rigging, and animation
• Manage version control and merging of scenes across the team during key milestones
CORE ENGAGEMENT
As the target demographic for our action adventure game are children and young teenagers, we aim to provide a satisfying and empowering experience where they embody a character who possesses great agility and powerful abilities. Coupled with a variety of tools, they are enabled to overcome challenges and enemies with ease.
WORLD BUILDING
Featuring an open world level, the Forest of Nimbleton contains many hidden surprises and intriguing locations to discover. Every area is meticulously crafted, some which include points of interest such as the towering active volcano, visible from any vantage point. While players are free to explore the world, the quests offered will guide them towards meaningful areas where key events will take place.
